The difference between Digital and Retail version are that retail version come with limited edition DLC. The item "The Burning Bandof Scorch, "Bite of Arakun", "Talisman of the Grand Mage" and "The Sacred Heart of the Legion" are included in Limited Edition. Those 4 item are to be equipped in players Rings and Necklaces slot. Like every in-game items, these rings and necklace are useful at the start of the game
, soon you will ditch these item for a better ones.

Bear in mind that this game are steamworks games, which mean the game will be activated via steam. Inside the retail version you will find a manual, disc, LE DLC code and a code become exclusive Square Enix member by registering the copy.

Gameplay

First thing everyone will spotted is the "bad control", I wouldn't say that bad once you tamed the control. The game may look like a old Dungeon Siege game, or maybe Diablo but the control aren't like one, seems like a 3rd person shooter game + with Diablo control hybrid which is totally weird. The thing is, the control are designed for console, so gamepad actually are suitable for this game. The worst part of these control are when you are using a ranged character like Katarina, it wasn't like diablo where you can click and attack that invidual enemy, it will attack on the area faced by the character. If you hover over the enemy before they come to you or when your change direction it will lock into that enemy. Like I mention before, it wasn't so hard once you "tamed" the control. Since the control are weird, controlling the camera view become a problem as well.

You may choose 4 of the character, Lucas the warrior, Anjali the Archon (or Fire demon), Reinhart the Mage (sort of) and Katarina the half Lescanzi witch blood (uses rifle and shotgun + pistol). In Single Player you will start with one of the 4 hero and meet the rest in game as companion. Only 1 companion can be accompany you during the game and can be change anytime during non-combat time. You be able to change the armor and weapon of your companion as well as their skill. In battle if 1 of the player or the companion are dead, the can revive each other, but if both are dead, the game is over and has to start at the nearest save point.

You aren't exactly Pacman, but those dot actually is mission guide, so you won't lost.

Each character has 3 set of skill to use, 2 set of attack skill and 1 defence skill. Only 1 set of attack skill can be use at the same time with defence skill. Your character will change stance depend on which skill you change. Example: Katarina use Rifle for the main weapon so she got rifle set skill, if she change stance to use shotgun+ pistol, the skill set will change and Lucas, his main ability was 2-handed sword, and he able to change stance to 1-hand sword + shield combo and so on for the other character.

1 thing I found useless was the block ability. The ability was almost useless in normal combat and prove abit useful in boss battle only. Nevertheless the game has very good combat engine. With the guide of the pacman dot, you won't confuse about where to go next. I spotted some minor bugs in-game, the main character may face the wrong direction when talking to NPC, which I found weird. The voice acting weren't bad at all, other than it wasn't lips sync with the voice.

Don't expect cinematic scene during conversation with NPC as well as this is NOT bioware games. After each chapter it end with a ink drawing story telling. As every decision and action you make will be effect slightly of the game ending. The result of your decision making will be told in a story form like Fallout 2 style.

The Muliplayer co-op mode is worst at its class. Why I said so?
- Only the host of the game make decision on which dialog to choose
- Your character progession won't be saving in your PC.
- Automatic camera control (no more manual camera control like in SP mode)
- All players (Max 4 player) are to be fit in a single screen only, no independent screen for each player.
- All the loot and eqiupment are shared, meaning someone can mess with your item.
- Best play with you buddy only, sure rage in public server

Storyline

The story was nicely done, connecting from your ancestor from previous Dungeon Siege game to this. Nothing extraordinary but it was nicely done. The game almost took the time as much as I spend on Dragon Age 2, it wasn't that short and aren't that long either.

Each character are draw in prettiness, don't you think?

Graphic and Sound

The graphic was very superb, with no major graphic glitch like happen on Dragon Age 2 before, it was pretty good. As for the sound Obsidian didn't really fully use of 5.1 sound channel, you will hear the sound aren't really travel around your speaker when you playing the game.

Verdict

The control and camera view are the major problem and need time to tame it. The news indicate that the developer will release a better patch for the control on PC. Although the game has bad Multiplayer co-op, the singleplayer still fun to play. The game has very good combat, voice acting and graphic. For the price of RM129 is worth it, but for new comer, try the demo on steam before make the final decision.
